It has been four years since I graduated from Charleston Southern with a degree in History. When I graduated a lot of people asked me what I was going to do with my History degree and the same thing was always asked: are you going to teach? I was not against teaching, but just did not think it was something I was going to do. I continued to work my college job and decided it was a good idea for a recent college graduate to run for The State House (I may have been wrong). I did not win that race but I learned a lot about politics and myself. After my venture into politics ended life saw fit to bring me back to Charleston Southern where I have had the opportunity to work for the admissions department for the past two years. The skills that I have learned working for CSU and the experiences I have had cannot be numbered. It has been an amazing job and I am so thankful for that I have had this opportunity. This brings us back to the question what I am going to do with my history degree. I have completed all of the necessary paperwork to use my history to teach. I hope to find a Social Studies position for the 2017-2018 school year. So although the answer is four years late I do plan on using my degree to teach.
